This page is my personal campaign to help defeat the
90 MILLION dollar Beverly Hills school bond known as Measure K that will be
on the March 5th Ballot. I will keep it short and simple
Why you should vote
NO on K in the March 5th 2002
Election:
1. YOU PAY FOR
THE BONDS through property taxes. This bill will take you 25 years for you to
pay off. This is something the YES campaign keeps very quiet about.
2.
MONEY collected from your tax bill will just be squandered away like the
millions of YOUR money for the 1993 bonds that passed. It fell way short of what
was needed due to how YOUR money was handled. The earthquake came as a good
excuse for their mess ups.
3. YOU have been deceived by the .com
billionaires who pay very little in property taxes that spent millions on
passing proposition 39 to lower the threshold to pass bonds from the current
2/3rds to 55% last year. They lied and said it protects property owners when it
did just the opposite. They did this to protect their OWN interests, because
there was a threat of internet commerce taxes that they would be charged to pay for
some of the bill.
4. RENTERS will also pay the price for the bonds.
Remember in Beverly Hills their is a 10% rent increase allowance which the
landlords will do if their operating costs increase.
5. The yes campaign
says they will use "watchdog" committees to oversee the spending. These people
are chosen by the school board, Who do you suppose they will pick?
6.
ALTHOUGH school restoration and repair may be needed, it is unfair to put the
burden on ONLY property owners.
